Super featherweight Robbie Peden knocked out Nate Campbell Saturday afternoon in an IBF eliminator at Pechanga Resort in Temecula, California. The end came in round five when Campbell (24-2-1), who was winning the fight, dropped his hands and stuck out his chin to mock Peden (23-2). Robbie obliged with a left hook to the chin that put Campbell down and out. Time was 2:27.

unreal...

I'll do you one better Spincht..........

In the co-feature, former WBC middleweight champion Keith Holmes (38-3) edged WBO #3 ranked 154-pounder Kuvanych Toygonbayev (22-2) in a ten round majority decision. Scores were 94-94, 95-93, 95-93 for Holmes. Toygonbayev was his own worst enemy, as he was deducted two points for low blows. The card was a Goossen Tutor promotion.

I dont think I wrote a bet on Holmes.

If im reading that right, it says that he put his hands down and chin out to mock him and got knocked out.. Unreal.. Leaves a sour taste in your mouth to lose money like that..

I recall when Campbell had McGirt as his trainer when he fought Casamayor. McGirt has always impressed upon me that he is a trainer that commands respect and discipline from his fighters. I just can't see Campbell exhibiting such behavior with a trainer like McGirt in his corner. The thought of taunting might have never entered his mind and most likely he would have come out victorious here.

When James Toney did that against Roy JJ I broke a remote control tossing it against the wall. I bet Toney like RJJ was me in there fighting. After Toneys annilation of Price Charles Williams I felt he was the man of men in the ring. RJJ cured that fast. I havent been a lights out fan since. Fukin stupid thing to do, let ur hands down. fighers deserve what they get for being assholes and dropping their hands. RJJ does it but he is so freakish he seems to get away w/ it. I would love to see him do that in his Tarver rematch and get caught, now that |Antonio isnt scared to exchange leather. that said, I still think RJJ is one of the absolute best I've ever seen.

Jesus Spinch I feel for ya. Did Fox show that fight? I'm in So. Cal and they showed the Mayorga vs Spinks fight tonight. By the way, there is no way in hell Spinks won that fight.
I really want to see the highlight of that.

Spinch-Very true. I opened -125 or -130 based on Nates last outing and got slammed all the way up. Only guy I KNOW bet Peden ws Val, and he bet it late as a scalp and some info we got very late. If u watched the line movement, I went from -285 to -240 on air and slowly got bet back up to -260. IT had somestink to it, but anything over +200 on the dog was an overlay IMO. Nate I felt was a bit overrated......as was/is Peden.

How bout the book that opned Mosely like -600 over winky. I admittedly liked Mosely at -300 and -270 but when i saw the crazy high number that beat me to the opener, I fell off my chair. If you shop, there are alot of guys out there trying to hang fresh numbers to get the market. I am liking the picnic so far in 2004.

Well, if you give a guy a FREE shot then I can certainly see it having that effect. If you are implying fix I disagree. I know someone who was at this fight and he said Campbell went down like a ton of bricks. We will see next week for sure. I think Campbell just got stupid and payed for it. Rumor has it he is the same way in the gym about showboating the dumb ****.

That hurts.
But maybe we got a little greedy ?
At least we should have buyed back a little.
But since the tip came from you, I thought wtf and lets ride it.
Anyway from the story it sounds like a freak KO.
Spinch you are Mr. quality and you are back in no time.

i just read the whole article..campbell,from all accounts was seriously hurt by the left hook...no shenanigans..........but, peden was taking alot of punishment from body shots ...he admitted he was hurt badly to the body....much like j.m. marquez did him in....

obviously campbell is an as-hole...if he never gets another big fight, that`s o.k. with me...

but, from all reports,we had the fight capped correctly..of course, the tide could have shifted..but,from what i read, campbell`s harder shots were taking control..and taking their toll...

....not much consolation...

peden`s not championship material....keep that in mind...the guy is very, very soft to the body.....

...i never got the impression that campbell was a moron....nobody expects to lose like that...

Nothing but the truth, my friend.

The mesi/jirov thing wasnt your idea (mea culpa) to start with and Campbell was a good bet at -140. Just bad luck.
